Description
Description
The Two Little Fishies PhosBan Reactor 150 is designed to give aquarium owners an efficient way to use PhosBan or other chemical filter media. It works on the upflow principle, where water is pushed from the bottom upward through a dispersion plate. This ensures even distribution of water through the media and prevents channeling, which makes the media work more effectively.
Two Little Fishies PhosBan Reactor is flexible in placement; it can be mounted by hanging it on the back of the aquarium or installed below the aquarium alongside other fish tank filters. It comes with hose barb connections for 1/2 inch i.d. tubing, along with a 1/2 inch barbed ball valve and hose clamps for easy flow control. The PhosBan Reactor 150 can be used with any pump that has a capacity between 100 and 250 gph, but it is recommended to regulate the flow rate to 20–30 gallons per hour using the included ball valve.
Key Benefits:
- Works on the upflow principle for maximum efficiency of filter media.

- Can be installed in two ways: hanging on the back or placed below the aquarium.
- Easy to connect with 1/2 inch i.d. tubing using hose barb connections.

safety and precautions
safety and precautions
- Always keep the reactor upright and level.
- Do not overtighten the lid; hand-tight is enough.
- Prevent back-siphoning by keeping the outlet hose above the waterline.
- Use the ball valve to reduce flow to the recommended rate.
- Secure hoses properly to avoid leaks.
- Never use soap or detergents when cleaning parts.
- Ensure pump does not pull on the hoses to prevent leaks.
Direction
Direction
- Unpack and assemble reactor parts with sponges and dispersion plates.
- Add PhosBan media (wet first to reduce dust) and seal with lid.
- Connect the pump (100–200 gph) to the reactor with 1/2 inch hose and a ball valve.
- Place the reactor upright; either hanging on the tank or below the aquarium.
- Run the pump and direct the outlet into a bucket to flush the initial dusty water.
- Adjust the ball valve to about 20 gph until the media tumbles slightly at the surface.
- Return the outlet hose to the aquarium once the water runs clear.
- Stir the media weekly by briefly opening the ball valve.
- Replace sponges or media as needed; clean with water only.
